Andrew Hutton, Day One | Entrepreneurship is not just the sexy, venture funded tech start-up — it’s also the convenience store owner down the street
Andrew Hutton, founder and CEO of Day One, has a vision of a world where all forms of entrepreneurship are celebrated and supported. Entrepreneurship enables people all over the world to support themselves and their families as well as solve major society-wide problems. But it’s not easy, and virtually no one learns it in school. Many start-up accelerator programs are great, but they serve a relatively small portion of entrepreneurs: tech-focused start-ups. So there’s a giant gap and Day One aims to fill it.
If I’m new to entrepreneurship and don’t know where to start, Day One is there. They help me learn about myself and what kind of business I might want to start. They help me develop a realistic sense of whether my idea’s any good. Above all, whether I have a good idea or not, they help me learn from the entrepreneurial adventure. Entrepreneurship is a tremendous learning opportunity for anyone that chooses it.
