Rob Laing, Farm. One | Growing vegetables with respect… to revolutionize an industry

Rob Laing is the founder of Farm. One, a company that got its start farming and selling fresh produce to some of the best chefs in NYC. Their vertical farms are pesticide-free, use very little water, and offer exceptionally fresh produce year-round, previously a near impossibility in New York.

There's a food systems revolution happening, and the food industry has to adjust. A larger percentage of customers want high quality food. They want vegetables grown with respect. They want a supply chain with respect at its core.

Farm. One sells their product in reusable containers, and treat their workers – especially their delivery-people – with appreciation and thoughtfulness. Rob believes in always finding long-term solutions. This extends to the business model as well. Farm. One had to move from a B2B to B2C business model when the restaurant industry took a big hit from the COVID 19 pandemic. They now focus on selling high-quality produce subscriptions to discerning New Yorkers.
