James Conrad, Synqrinus | If your people are happy, so are your clients and finances

James Conrad’s Chief Strategy Officer and Partner at Synqrinus, a creative market research firm based in Toronto. The professional services world isn’t known for focusing on people; law and management consulting are notorious for being challenging industries to work in. That’s odd because professional services is all about selling people and their brainpower. So why wouldn’t professional services companies elevate their people?

James believes that when shaping the business’ strategy, it’s important to ask: What’s best for your people? An example: The company invests in tech that could be scalable and profitable but what does it do for the people? Will it support their development? This should at least be a factor in strategic decision-making and it rarely is. This has been a big secret to James’ success as an executive at many companies, including turning around one of the largest market research companies in Brazil despite a massive recession.
